Regus with American Airlines AAdvantage® Program to offer a New Way to Earn AAdvantage Miles

Travelers working from any one of Regus’ 1,200 business centers can earn extra miles

Regus and American Airlines announced an agreement that gives members of the American Airlines AAdvantage® loyalty program the opportunity to earn AAdvantage® miles when booking Regus’ full-service and virtual offices, meeting rooms or Businessworld services anywhere in the world.

“One of the best features of the AAdvantage program is the ability for members to earn miles through everyday activities – including work”

Under the new agreement, AAdvantage® members will earn seven miles per dollar spent on new virtual office or Businessworld sales and on day office, meeting room or video communications bookings. Five AAdvantage® miles will be awarded to members per dollar spent on new full-time office agreements at any Regus location.

The global footprints of both organizations (Regus & American Airlines) enable AAdvantage® members to easily locate and work from any one of Regus’ fully equipped and staffed business centers across the world. “We are very excited to launch our partnership with American Airlines and will continue to look for innovative ways for AAdvantage® members to earn more miles with Regus”

“Many of Regus’ customers are already AAdvantage® members and are familiar with our services. This new agreement will make business travel a seamless experience for American Airlines’ passengers because they can now tap into our network anywhere in the world and be guaranteed a proper place to work or conduct meetings.”

Regus business lounge opens at Shell motorway station, an innovative pilot for mobile workers.

Shell and Regus announce the trial of a joint programme that could see Regus business lounges open at Shell petrol forecourts on motorways across Europe. The business lounges are designed specifically to meet the needs of a growing number of mobile workers.

The first business lounge has opened at a Shell station just south-west of Paris, on the A10 autoroute, at the Limours-Janvry service station. Drivers can drop into the lounge to:

• use reliable high-speed internet;
• scan, copy or fax documents;
• print from their laptop, smartphone, Blackberry or tablet;
• get help from a virtual concierge;
• arrange courier deliveries; and,
• combine stopping for fuel, food or forecourt services with using professional work facilities.

To access the Regus business lounge, they simply buy a day pass at the Shell checkout or swipe a Regus Businessworld card. The Businessworld programme offers members drop-in access to more than 1,200 Regus business centres around the world.

The lounge will be an addition to the existing range of high quality fuels and lubricants and other forecourt services such as the shop.

“This alliance allows Shell and Regus as market leaders in their respective fields to come together to better serve our customers. We know that many of our customers are working on the move and are excited to explore offering them accessible and innovative working options as part of our existing network.

—Istvan Kapitany, Vice President Shell Retail Europe

“Research shows there are around 1 billion mobile workers globally. Though they communicate and work using smartphones, tablets and laptops, they miss access to a professional place to work, meet or think where there is easy access to state of the art business facilities. By opening Regus business lounges at motorway stations, Shell and Regus are bringing vibrant business hubs right to the roadside. As a result, many people will be able to work more productively in a professional business environment while on the move.”

—Mark Dixon, CEO of Regus

Regus Case Study: Red Hat

Founded in 1993, Red Hat has become the world’s leading open source provider, bringing the choice, collaboration, cost savings and value of open source to enterprises around the world. All software has source code and ‘open source’ software grants every user access to that code, unlike proprietary software. Red Hat began trading as a public company in August 1999, and now operates out of North America, South America, Asia Pacific and EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa). The company employs more than 3,500 staff across 70 offices in 30 countries.

Challenge

One of the company’s main challenges has been keeping pace with its own growth, including expansion in existing markets, acquisitions of other businesses, and the penetration of new geographic territories.

Red Hat builds factual information and trends into its projections and forecasts, puts a small team in place locally, and then takes decisions about future expansion with more knowledge and confidence.

Solution

Regus provides Red Hat with a stepping stone approach into new markets and territories. With more than 1,100 offices in 500 cities and 85 countries, Regus is the largest provider of flexible workplaces worldwide.

Red Hat’s approach is to put a small number of sales people into a market, and then use Regus workplaces and facilities until such time that the company decides to make a greater commitment.

At any one time, Regus workspace represents nearly 10% of Red Hat’s real estate portfolio and is sometimes higher when needed. One of the main aspects of Regus that appeals to Red Hat is the ability to set up and take down workspace quickly.

And as well as taking workplaces from Regus, Red Hat also makes use of Regus’ extensive range of facilities and services, including business lounges, audio and videocommunications, and general office support.

In Europe in particular, Red Hat’s local sales people make extensive use of Regus Businessworld, enabling them to work in whichever location best suits them.

“We’ve been working with Regus for more than 10 years to help us grow our business in existing markets as well as new territories. Flexibility is at the heart of Regus, which means we can enter a new country or region without significant cost and risk to our business.”

—Craig Youst, Senior Director, Global Facilities & Real Estate, Red Hat

Live and work solutions for the mobile worker

Regus’ Businessworld membership program, giving the on-the-go business person access to workspace in 1100 locations worldwide, is attracting more and more parters. In fact, mobile workers — who are more likely to work from home or a business lounge rather than a Regus day office — now make up the majority of our customers.

Our latest partner, Oakwood, the global leader and provider of furnished and serviced apartments, is offering our U.S. and Canadian customers discounts of up to $3,000. Regus customers staying for three to six months in Oakwood’s studios or one and two-bed furnished apartments, are eligible for discounts (visit the Regus Purchasing Group website for more info).

Oakwood customers who stay for 30 days or more at any North America location gain access to Businessworld.

“This live and work solution enables more than cost savings. We are helping our guests be more productive and helping our clients realize the additional value of working with Oakwood on their global mobility programs.”

- Howard Ruby is Chairman, Founder and COO of Oakwood
